Who we are
Garima Dance Academy LLC (“the studio”) is a dance studio operating in the Cumming, Georgia area. This policy describes how the studio collects, uses, and protects information about your family when you use this website, hold a family account, or enroll a dancer.
Questions about this policy or about your family’s information can be sent to info@garimadanceacademy.com.
Information we collect
Family account information: the parent or guardian’s name, email address, phone number, and home address, and optionally a second guardian’s name and contact details. You provide this when you create an account or update it in settings.
Dancer information: each dancer’s name, birth date, gender, school, prior dance experience, emergency contact details, costume sizes, and any allergies, food restrictions, or medical conditions you share so the studio can respond appropriately in an emergency.
Signing records: when you sign the studio’s enrollment documents, the studio keeps the signed document version and its content fingerprint, your typed name and drawn signature, and the date, time, network address, and browser used at signing. These records are evidence of the agreement and are retained as long as the law expects.
Payment information: tuition payments are processed by Stripe. The studio never sees or stores full card numbers; it keeps records of charges, payment status, and, for autopay, the card brand and last four digits so you can recognize your card.
Photos and video: created and used only as described in the photo and media release you sign for each dancer.
Messages: if you communicate with the studio by email or messaging apps such as WhatsApp, the studio keeps those conversations as ordinary business records.
How we use information
The studio uses this information to run classes and place dancers appropriately, to reach you or your emergency contact quickly when something happens, to bill tuition and keep payment records, to send operational email such as receipts, schedule updates, and document notices, and to keep the legal records that enrollment requires.
The studio does not use your family’s information for advertising, does not run third-party analytics or ad tracking on this site, and does not send promotional marketing email as part of holding an account.
Who can see information
Within the studio, information is visible to the owner and instructor and to anyone administering the studio’s systems on its behalf. Parents see only their own family’s information through their account.
The studio never sells your family’s information.
Like most websites, the studio relies on service providers to operate: Supabase hosts the database and sign-in system, Stripe processes payments, Resend delivers the studio’s email, and Vercel hosts the website. These providers process information only to provide their service.
The studio may disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the safety of a dancer.
Children’s information
Accounts are held by parents and legal guardians, and all information about dancers is provided by the account-holding adult. This website is directed at parents, not at children, and the studio does not knowingly collect information directly from a child. If you believe a child has provided information directly, contact the studio and it will be removed.
Information about dancers, including health information, is collected for one purpose: running classes and performances safely. It is treated as the most sensitive information the studio holds.
Cookies
This site uses cookies only to keep you signed in to your account. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking scripts.
How long we keep information
Family and dancer information is kept while a dancer is enrolled and for a reasonable period afterward, in case the family returns and so the studio’s records stay coherent.
Signed documents, signing records, and payment records are kept longer, because they are legal and financial records the studio may need to produce years later, including after a dancer leaves the studio.
Your choices
You can review and update most of your family’s information at any time in your account, including contact details, emergency contacts, and dancer health information. Keeping this current is the most important thing you can do, since in an emergency the studio relies on what is on file at that moment.
You can ask the studio to delete your family’s information by emailing info@garimadanceacademy.com. The studio will delete what it can, and will tell you what it must keep, such as signed documents and payment records, and why.
You can withdraw photo and media consent as described in the photo and media release.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the bottom of the page. If a change meaningfully affects how the studio handles your family’s information, the studio will also tell you by email before the change takes effect.
